BANKSIA HAVE BEAUTIFULLY INTRICATE CONE-SHAPED FLOWERS THAT VARY IN COLOURS FROM YELLOW, RED, BRONZE, PINK, AND EVEN PURPLE.
These uniquely shaped flowers are not only beautiful but are also a rich source of nectar, making them an important food source in the bush. The Indigenous people found the Banksia tree an ideal survival treat. They would either suck the nectar directly from the flower or soak it in a wooden bowl with some water creating a naturally sweet energy drink.
